Seems that Chief Lobbyist of the NRA-ILA Chris W. Cox has addressed the DoD (Department of Defense) and learned that spent military brass is now back up to be sold to dealers who originally were buying the brass to reload ammo that was sold in guns stores and by vendors at shows and the such.

Seems that there were two political figures that were partly responsible for this. Senators Max Baucus and Jon Tester (both of Montana-Democrat) wrote a letter to the DoD and relayed that this was having a huge impact on small businesses of the like and the suspension needed to be lifted.

The problem was that when spent casing were retrieved, they were not categorized to be resold but only put together to smelted and the brass be resold meaning that someone would have to punch out the brass and basically build ammo from scratch. Now, the casings are being categorized and now being sold in tact to those businesses in the US who previously purchased from the DoD.

This is obviously good news to the small businesses as well as the consumers such as you and I.

On another note, if you remember getting my newsletter the other week about how Congress was inflating the numbers as to the numbers of firearms that were found over in Mexico, it seems that they had a hearing the other other week and there were representatives at this hearing from the ATFBE (Alcohol,Tobacco,Firearms Bureau Enforcement). There, more than one agent testified AND CORRECTED the members of congress that the numbers that they and the media were telling us was in fact incorrect. They testified that only a small number of arms had been linked back to the United States and it was made clear that only 13% of the 90% of guns that were checked, were traced back to the U.S. (NOTE: Media and Congress stated that 90% of the firearms traced were linked back to the U.S.)

The other kicker is this. No where, has congress or ANY of the Anti-Gun politicians said that they were aware that these guns that were traced, were from stock piles of weapons that had been brought in over the years and were divvied out as need be by the Mexican Drug Cartel Lords. It seems as though, these guns have been over in Mexico for sometime and it was strongly suggested that the Mexican Government needed to look at their OTHER BORDERS and not necessarily the US/Mexico Border.

There is strong reason to believe that what guns that are being brought in are coming in from shipyards on the Western and Eastern coasts of Mexico and NOT the NORTHERN border.

What does this tell us about our Congress and President? Really not anything we didn't already know. The thing is that they didn't want us to know this but it doesn't matter who you are or what you do, when people start messing with our Constitutional Rights and infringing on our territory, things are going to get dug up. I guess the Democrats have under estimated the Republicans and those that are Pro-Gun and have believed that we are just going to set back and let this happen.

Maybe, we can, and seems that we are, make a statement that we are NOT going down without a fight and if they want a fight, a fight it will be.

Also during this time, we have gone through some tough challenges when it comes to our 2nd Amendment and the United States Government. Presiden Obama is a threat to our Right to Keep and Bear Arms and he will continue to challenge us at every turn and intersection that he can. There is a little hope. Congress has told US General Attorney, Eric Holder, that they would not address some of the gun laws that he has sent to Congress. They know that there will be a tough battle between the NRA, us, and a large number of the Republicans.

I ask that you keep checking back for updates. With the recent selection of Chief Court Sotomoyer, if confirmed, we will see what happens. She has a not so good repor with gun owners.
