As we all know, the current President is trying and will continue to try to reinstate the Assault Weapons Ban (AWB). President Obama stated many times during his campaign that he would seek reinstate the AWB that former President Clinton inacted during his administration. Being an AR owner, this bothered me more than words could explain. However, during his campaign, he stated many times that there were a "few" changes that he would like to make. There have been documents posted with all the things that he wants to do and while some are just not comprehendable, I do think that something will happen. The impression was that while this was not on the top of his list and we wondered how long it would take, now we are facing it with him only being in office 2 months. Why? You ask. Well, it seems that they have a "reason" to address it now. The Mexican Goverment and the Mexican Drug Cartels.
Just within the past few weeks, the news media has been addressing this problem that we now, all of a sudden have, and it involves guns that are being moved from the U.S. over to Mexico. What I have a hard time understanding is that how can these people that are obviously smart enough to run our country but cannot figure out that it is the CRIMINALS and not the Law Abiding Citizens that are the ones moving these guns.
Why can our goverment not address those people instead of making everyone suffer the consequences. It appears that the main problem is at the border that seperates the U.S.A. and Mexico. So, if there is not enough people at the border, hire more. Come off some of this 40 Billion Dollars that we are paying out of our already empty pockets and put forth toward our Border Patrol, ATF, DEA and local agencies that border U.S. and Mexico. Come up with stiffer penalties for those that are caught sending/smuggling, however they are doing it, guns across the border. Do not smack them on the hand and let them out on a written promise to appear or even a small bond. If you are caught providing firearms that are known to be used in these homicides then you are contributing and should punished as an accessory. No questions asked.
What our goverment also cannot see in front of their face is that the law abiding citizens have to protect themselves from these people who are forcing entry into our homes. If you take the ability for us to protect ourselves and not be outgunned like some law enforcement agencies are away from us, then we are helpless just like some of these agencies are. WHY? Let someone walk or try to walk in my door and I will take care of them FOR YOU! You won't have to worry about spending tax dollars to have their trial, pay for jurors to have jury duty, their 3 full meals a day and up keep. $1.00 will save us thousands and not allow for them to get out on a technicality so that they can go right back and do it again.
We as american citizens are tired of seeing our country being run by people that don't have enough common sense to get in out of the rain let alone run our country. We are tired of people trying to make changes because of THEIR belives and not what is good for the country. I wished that I could be in a position where I could make drastic changes as they want to make because I don't believe in something or disagree with one thing or another. Make educated choices and decisions. Think these things out in it's entireity. And why should we let a problem that another country has effect changes that may or may not hurt or do our country good?
It sounds like someone didn't graduate the 9th grade and quit school because of recess. Pres. Obama, VP Biden, Sec. of Defense Clinton and of course, Eric Holder, Get your head out of your ass and think about what you are doing. Hear what we have to say.
